iStockphoto Guideline
Dear creative folks out there. I am an exclusive iStock member since 2003 and I earn a royalty from them quite frequently. Come and join istockphoto for free registration. You can either buy stock or sell stock or both. There are four types of categories, which are photos, illustrations, flash and videos. Recently, iStockphoto has launched a new category called iStockaudio where you can sell your audio composition including a loop. You can join all of the categories. But you must sit for a test to entitle you the license for each category. The true and false questions are pretty easy and you can take the test until you pass the test or exam. Don’t worry, manual guides are provided. Video is the highest paid royalty so far. Imagine if the client buy your stock video in HD format. HD format is cost around 40-50 USD per file. Photos are based on resolution, the higher the resolution the higher the pay you will get. As for illustration, the more complex your illustration the better and is based on how many colors you use. And its very tedious when upload an illustration because it needs fully attention on the open path and close path. For flash, I am not really majoring into that category but it is the same like illustration but not so tedious. All pricing is decided by iStockphoto and revised if needed. All pricing for 2008 is now revised. Besides, you can refer your friend to join iStockphoto by using a banner advertisement provided by iStockphoto and you will get a referral earning USD10 per head.
In addition, once you become a member, you can apply for exclusive program to entitle you the benefits of iStock. This program will promote your work through worldwide client. The potential of your works can be purchased by massive clients is for sure. Once your account has reached an amount of USD100 and above, you can request your earning by cheque or paypal. Illustrator, video editor, photographer, creative designer & audio designer are all invited to join the team. The more the merrier.
